Field First Aid

Learning How to Treat Injuries in the Field is a Crucial Skill

Your physical health is the most important component of your survival.

Under normal conditions, you would go to the doctor. But when you are on the trail or in a survival situation you need to have at least some basic skills to take care of yourself and those in your team. The three most common first aid situations are cuts and abrasions, burns and mechanical injuries.

When injures occur in the Wilderness or during Bug Out or SHTF situation the stakes are much higher. If you get an infection while you are in that situation your survival can be in jeopardy.

Mechanical injuries such as sprains, broken bones and more are commonplace with people who are suddenly forced into the wilderness with little to no skills. Splints, ace bandages and the like are important considerations while planning bug-out bags and provisioning vehicles, etc.
