Remain Calm
PracticeSurvival.com stresses that you should remain calm and balanced. Remember Will’s rule, “There is no disaster when you are prepared”. Being prepared and making proactive planning part of your daily routine should have nothing to do with panic or reactive behavior. Proactive planning is an act of a responsible educated person or organization.
Without an Established Plan You are a Refugee
The term commonly used amongst preppers and survivalists; Bugging Out refers to a situation where you are forced to leave the area where you are settled and live, generally, under duress, at threat of violence or some type of disaster. You basically are a refugee. Being a refugee is nothing to look forward to. Just read the news every day filled with stories of suffering, disease, strife, hunger and violence. You need only look a few years back and read the firsthand accounts of the number of rapes, assaults, abuse, hunger and illness at the Super Dome in Louisiana in the midst of Hurricane Katrina.

If you have been forced leave your personal domicile to "run for high ground" you life is a mess. The physical and psychological damage can be permanent.

I hear survivalists and preppers all the time say, "No problem, if the SHTF I am running for - - - - - - . Ok, right, are you running to? The mountains? The National or State Park? A central State? Do you think that they will want you there? Squatting? Eating up there charity and services? Invading there happy homeland? The answer is a resounding NO!

More importantly everyone else has the same idea.

If you have had personal experience with bugging out please E-mail Site Ideas with the details and anything that you learned so we can add it to the articles.
