Cleanliness is next to
NOT GETTING SICK

The Best Way
To Avoid Illness is Good Hygiene
Hygiene
Be Prepared for Hygiene
Even in Grid Down or Wilderness

You should test and practice maintaining full proper personal hygiene without standard resources. Pack fast drying microfiber washcloths, camp soap, toilet tissue, wet wipes, tooth and oral hygiene products. Then practice using them and keeping clean for several days without resources. Then you will be ready to survive for the long haul.
Whether you are on a hike, camping, at work or in a SHTF situation, getting sick will stop you dead in your tracks. Unlike other challenges, a severe illness like Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and other things like Botulism, Salmonila, and more can kill you, sometimes in slow agonizingly painful ways.

All of that can be avoided by maintaining good hygiene. Unfortunately, camping, hiking, being off-grid, or in a bug out situation is not generally conducive to being clean. The lack of running, potable water lowers the level of hygienic behavior. There are means to cope with the problems if you are thoughtful about it.
