Have a Water Usage Plan
Physical Conservation Devices:
       Low flow shower heads and spigot heads
       Zero Water toilets (burn or compost toilets)
        Assure the delivery system is free of leaks 
       Cultural Conservation Habits
 
Make everyone aware of the amount of available water
 
Make them aware of the amount that they use for individual acts:
       General hygiene -
              Hand washing, Showers, etc.
       Toilet activities
       Cooking
       Hydration - Drinking
       Cleaning - Clothes, cooking utensils
       Prioritize needs
Create a water management plan; planning the methods of use, storage, filtration, transportation, metering, and delivery.
 
In order to assure long term water demands are met, it is necessary to design a management plan that will incorporate both physical and cultural efficiency programs.
