Being Prepared for Challenges on the Road Makes a Difference

If you are on the road away from home and your supplies having a series of survival kits with you in your vehicle can make the difference between you suffering and just being inconvenienced.

As those of you who have attended Will's Vehicle Survival Kit and Winter Vehicle Survival Kit class know the contents of your kit (as with all kits) will be determined by your skill set. Obviously, this is not about the some 1 in a million chance of disaster, this is every day real world stuff. The video below is a news report from the Atlanta area. Imagine, 8000 students were stranded at their schools by ice and snow along with hundreds of thousands of others too. During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend one of my attendees diligently made their personal and vehicle kits went on their way, they were stuck for 4 hours in a traffic jam on a limited access roadway. They had prepared for such an event; their kits were stocked and all ready. Unfortunately, they forgot them in the house. A valiant effort foiled by human error. We are all guilty of it; the only way to beat it is to make preparedness a trained behavior, instead of a chore.

Check out the Kits for Life section for some ideas (button on the top right). If you don't want to make one yourself Will will custom design and build you a kit based upon your vehicle, make, model, and your skills.  Email Will for details.

Watch the video below to see a great example of how bad it can be if you are not prepared on the highway (skip ahead to about 1/4 in if you are impatient).
