Most people plan, if they have to bugout to do so in a vehicle. If that plan fails what is your alternative? Do you have a bicycle? Do you have a bike trailer? Or cart? What if you have to go on foot?
Then imagine you are walking and you encounter a pack of 15-20 feral dogs. Even small breeds have taken down a full sized adult, in the USA recently. Are you prepared to defend yourself? How? Can you get to the defensive weapon in time?
