Flooding is the cause of 90% of all Federal Disaster Declarations. Floods occur all over the world for a plethra of reasons. Hurricanes are high on the list of flood causes. They also claim lives and billions of property damage as well as incalcuable damage to the economy both short and long term.
Most flood damage can be mitigated with proactive planning, risk management and preparedness.
Most deaths are easily avoidable with some knowledge, good judgement and knowing when to evacuate.
